Thomas Götz is a wine journalist specializing in Iberian wines. Based in Germany and Spain, he writes for magazines such as Wein+Markt, Weinkenner, Falstaff and MiVino. As well as writing, he teaches Portuguese and Spanish wines at the International Wine Institute, a sommelier school in Germany's Ahr Valley. He also gives masterclasses and wine training sessions, the latter to the sales teams of wine merchants, for example.

He is also a founding partner of Friends Cellar, a privately owned wine producing business in the Kakheti region of Georgia, Caucasus. Ilgar was a member of the Judging Panel for Wines of Portugal Challenge in 2018. Apart from the winemaking he loves to travel and explore new places and cultures. Ilgar is married and has two children.

Maryna Revkova Ucrânia
I’ve been working with wine since 2017, started as a sommelier assistant in the biggest wine restaurant in Ukraine with 2000 wines per list (Vino e Cucina ristorante / enoteca). After couple of months I took a sommelier position and took the 2nd place in the competition “The First Women’s Cup Sommeliers International” in November, 2018. In April 2019 - 2nd place in “The Best Sommelier of Ukraine” when my chef-sommelier won. After a couple tough years of Covid without trips and events I passed the ASI Certification and now you can find my name on the website of Association de la Sommellerie Internationale as a ASI Diploma keeper. In September, 2021 I finally got the 1st place in the competition and became the best sommelier of Ukraine. The second girl in Ukrainian history who did it). The next months I passed WSET 3 with merit and represented Ukraine in “The Best Sommelier of Europe and Africa” which took place in Limassol, Cyprus. After the war started I left Ukraine and worked in Portugal, Douro valley in the new restaurant of celebrity Michelin star chef Pedro Lemos. Then I was delighted to receive the Gerard Basset Foundation and Artemis Domaines Golden Vines Victims of Conflict Scholarship to spend 6 months to spend 6 months in Chateau Latour in Bordeaux. The best experience in oenology I’ve ever had. Now I work as a winemaker in Ukraine and studying winemaking at the same time, WSET Diploma student and plan to became Master of Wine in the next 8 years.

Sebastian Bordthäuser Alemanha
Sebastian Bordthäuser studied German, but ultimately decided on the bottle. After working from a beer garden to a star restaurant, he set up his own business in 2014 after more than 20 years in the catering industry. Since then he has been working as a freelance sommelier, author and journalist at his Cologne-Ehrenfeld kitchen table. Bordthäuser published the book “Wein & Vegetables” together with Manuela Rüther in 2017 by Fackelträger Verlag, and in March 2018 the collection “The Philosophy of Cooking” was published by Mairisch Verlag. He writes regularly for Effilee, Welt am Sonntag, Der Feinschmecker and Meiningers Sommelier-Magazin as well as for numerous other pleasure magazines. He accompanied the founding of the Falstaff Wine Guide from the very beginning, both editorially and as a taster, and works as a juror for numerous competitions as well as for the Gerolsteiner Wein-Places. In addition to his work as a lecturer at sommelier and hotel management schools, he works in sensory quality assurance. Countless presentations round off his profile as a wine entertainer. The sought-after sommelier believes that his studies now serve him well in his efforts to talk and write about wine in a language that is understandable. Bordthäuser cites the basics of sensory technology as the focus of his work, with cultural backgrounds and abysses receiving particular attention.

Sebastian Giraldo Makovej is a two-time Hungarian Sommelier of the Year winner ('22 & '23), Hungarian Sommelier Champion ('22) and Polish Sommelier Champion ('23). He has represented Hungary internationally in the Balkan Sommelier Competition (2nd place) and in ASI's 2023 Best Sommelier of the World competition. He is an Advanced Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers. Currently he works as Sauska Winery's Brand Ambassador.

Tim Gaiser MS EUA
Tim Gaiser is an internationally renowned wine expert and lecturer. He is one of less than 300 individuals worldwide to ever attain the elite Master Sommelier title. He is the former Director of Education and Education chair for the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, and an instructor for the Napa Valley Wine Academy. Over his 30-plus year career, Tim has taught thousands of students in wines and spirits classes at every level as well as developing wine education programs for restaurants, winery schools and wine distributors. He has experience in all phases of the wine industry: online, wholesale, retail, winery, and restaurants. Tim has written for a number of publications including Fine Cooking Magazine and the Somm Journal and also writes for numerous wine and spirits clients. He has served as the author and lead judge for the Best Young Sommelier Competition and the Top Somm Competition. Prior to developing his wine expertise, Tim received an M.A. in Classical Music. He played classical trumpet as a freelance professional and as an extra with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. He currently lives with his family in New Mexico.
